Came down to Sacramento to see my parents and decided to stay at the Governor's Inn. It was our first time staying here, and my wife and kids loved it. There is a Mexican restaurant really close by, and downtown is about a 5-minute drive. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. My family and I will be staying here again.

My family and I love staying here! Everyone we have encountered who works here is always so kind, and the rooms are always kept very, very clean. They have a free breakfast for overnight guests, and it is great as well.

Governors Inn is a great place to stay in Sacramento. It is so close to downtown and the price is unbeatable for a hotel in that area. The front desk ladies were great and the rooms were very tidy. There were also great options available for breakfast. Overall, I would definitely love to stay here again!!!

We’ve stayed at The Governors Inn 4 or 5 times for Aftershock. The staff is always amazing, the rooms are clean, the breakfast is perfect. This year they provided ear plugs and rain ponchos, plus scheduled food trucks every night, knowing we’d all be starving by the end of each night. I’ve never had a hotel go out of their way like this. See you next year❤️

This place is great . The rooms are big beds are comfortable, staff is very helpful. I can’t take a star away for the location it was perfect for what we needed. The food trucks every night was a nice touch. I would definitely stay here again.

Brooke understands what great service is all about and is beyond friendly! She went out of her way to get us into our rooms early — she didn’t have to, but she did! If you’re coming to Aftershock, this is the place to stay! Bonus points for the awesome food truck in the parking lot!

Pros: Very nice, clean hotel. Breakfast was good. Only had waffles as the hot food... everything else was cold and grab and go. There were alot of options though. There is a Dennys across the street and McDonald's right next door. Parking was great and had no issues getting into building. Pricing was very affordable.CONS: As a big girl who is also short...I had 2 issues with the room. #1 Shower stall has glass doors but is very small shower itself so door opening is small. Reminded me of a Cruise shower...i had to maneuver to get in. #2 Bed is on a platform with a big box spring so I had to climb/throw myself on it.Would I stay again...yes, it was a comfortable, reasonably priced hotel and was very clean. It's also in a good location to freeway and very close to Old Town Sacramento... which anyone coming here needs to visit

I was very pleasantly surprised at how nicely maintained this hotel is considering it's in a terrible part of town so overrun with vagrants that it might be called a homeless campground. The interior of the hotel is beautiful and well maintained. spacious hallways and well kept rooms. I would recommend it if you don't plan to go outside after dark.

It's the best place. Every year I come for vacation this is the only place I stay at. Love it!

Great service, the staff was very friendly and attentive. The rooms are very spaciousand and really nice, the body wash smells so good. I literally booked on the car ride over and was check in fast. Impressive, I was extremely satisfied.

The hotel was clean and convenient.Great parking.But the most important, Joelin, the woman in the front desk that she is s wonder woman. We needed help with orgenize our equipment and she opened a room for us. We will come back.

Clean. Great service. In my opinion, I wish they had more options for breakfast, but the coffee was perfect. The worker in the breakfast lounge is such a sweet person with a wonderful attitude and personality. The pool was awesome. The hot tub needs to be serviced but still feels great. Overall, I was very happy with this establishment and will return if im ever in Sacramento.

This is hands down the best hotel in the area. It's always very clean. The staff is great. My husband and I have stayed here about 40 times okay, the location isn't great but we've never had an issue. Breakfast is always great. I just wish they had bacon or sausage.. but other than that I have no complaints. Bessie is absolutely the nicest lady ever. If you have breakfast there in the morning, don't forget to give her a tip. She works very hard.

Wir können es für einen Sacramento Besuch sehr empfehlen. Das Zimmer ist ruhig, sauber und geräumig. Es gibt ein typische amerikanisches Frühstück. Aber es war das erste Hotel das Nutella zum Frühstück hatte ☺️ Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden. Es gibt auch einen Pool.

Before arriving at the hotel, we were quite worried due to reviews mentioning many homeless people in front of the hotel and in the parking lot. However, in our actual experience, we didn’t see any homeless people there. The facilities are a bit old but very clean and fully equipped, and the room was quiet. One inconvenience was that the key card would lose its magnetic strip when placed near a phone — this happened to us twice, but the staff helped us resolve it very quickly. A big plus is that the hotel is very close to famous tourist attractions, making it very convenient to get around.

I am very pleased with this hotel! Very clean!, Best Continental Breakfast I have had! The maintenance person was excellent! He helped us immensely by replacing a bed that was too high for my guest who had a procedure done at the hospital! Kudos and Thank you to you! Above and beyond! Thank you to the night staff that came up with solutions and followed through! Great prices and the value was outstanding!

We had a really pleasant two night stay at the Governors Inn. When we arrived our room wasn’t ready but the friendly, helpful receptionist found another room for us with an upgrade to a studio. ||The hotel rooms and public areas were all impeccably clean.||The free breakfast was adequate to set you up for the day. The waffles were very good.||An unexpected bonus was the free shuttle to the airport ( only 10 minutes away.||We walked into old Sacramento along the river, it took about 20 mins but I wouldn’t walk in the evening.||Overall a good place to stay.

My room was spacious and very comfortable. There was a comfortable chair, nice desk and chair, and a good couch. The air conditioning worked well. Bathroom was a little small but that wasn't a problem. The best thing about this hotel is the friendly staff. There were a lot of nice options for the included breakfast and I especially appreciated how friendly and helpful the lady working the breakfast was. She really made an effort to see that the guests felt welcomed and got everything they needed. Front desk staff was also good.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The service was absolutely outstanding — the front desk staff was incredibly polite, and the breakfast café staff was very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were spotless, which is especially important to us as we are traveling with a small child. They provided a crib for our baby, and there was also a high chair available at breakfast. And all of this at a very reasonable price — definitely a 5⭐️ experience!

Was very good service all around, secure location next to police station. We were allowed to park our long vehicle (45ft) in the parking lot in the off season for which we were grateful.Hotel decor is regal. Perhaps a bit dated in design but well appointed with many nice touches to add to the decor.Very clean. Enjoyed the lite bite of continental breakfast although it’s carb heavy. Best regards to the breakfast attendant whose name I misplaced. Stayed Monday Mar 17, 2025Pool was nice for a hot day and hot tub was probably not as hot due to the pouring rain. Overall was a nice spot. Would be good for kids as it is fenced in.Only qualm was the shower head was pretty decrepit. Time for a newer more powerful head in 245 my friends. The parakeets at the entrance were a nice touch, staff were nice, the beds were comfortable and the pool was clean. Not much more you can ask for considering the affordable price.

It was a great pruce

Comfortable 3 night stay. Friendly staff. Good coffee, fresh fruit and a variety of breakfast items. No housekeeping service during our stay. Request for supplies was accommodated quickly. Recommend as a home base while staying in Sac.

At first, I was concerned about the look of the hotel because it appeared older and dated.But once we arrived, the service at the front desk and especially Bessie’s smile & cheerful greeting made going to breakfast each morning a joy!It seems that although the hotel was full of guests, the age of the building structure muffled any noise between rooms.Overall, a great stay. We will definitely be back when we come back to Sacramento.

Very good hotel

Beautiful Hotel with huge beautiful simple rooms. The staff was awesome. Breakfast was lacking eggs and potatoes, but at least they had waffles, bagels, cereal, and yogurt.

Very comfortable room. Super nice and helpful service. Basic breakfast is good. Old TV does not support HDMI external streaming devices.

The lobby was very clean and well decorated The room was amazing a very comfortable The customer service was absolutely amazing they were very courteous to my situation I was there a short time but I enjoyed it and was gone before she woke up

Close to the airport

I can't speak highly enough about this hotel! The staff were all incredible: friendly, ever present, and above and beyond its helpfulness. The place is amazingly clean, and there are always workers in the background keeping up with maintaining that level of cleanliness. The front desk staff were lovely. The breakfast offered was expansive, and there was always a friendly staff member there too, to say Good Morning with a smile, and assist at any time. I would give this place a glowing review anywhere, but it's especially impressive for Sacramento! I had such a great experience, and it was so affordable that I kept thinking, "What's the catch?" But there's no catch - it's just a hotel owned and run by people who care. 1000/10 recommend.

Jolene was great! Rooms were clean and we were able to walk to Discovery Park from our room.
